APPROVAL OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BUILDING BONDS
The school board of Independent School District No. 1 (Aitkin Public Schools) has proposed certain projects for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including without limitation the acquisition of land for and construction of a new school for grades 5-12; the relocation of athletic fields to the new school site; renovations, remodeling, and additions to Rippleside Elementary; and the demolition or sale of the existing high school facility. To provide funds for the project costs, the school board has proposed to issue general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $68,500,000.00. The project has received a positive review and comment from the Commissioner of Education.
