CITY QUESTION 1 (Mounds View)
CONSIDERING SALES TAX FOR EXPANSION OF COMMUNITY CENTER
Shall the City of Mounds View be authorized to (a) impose a temporary sales and use tax to finance all or a portion of the cost of constructing an expansion to the existing community center and creation of a regional amateur sports and recreational facility, in an amount equal to one and one-half of one percent (1.5%) for a period of twenty (20) years or until $16,500,000 plus the costs of collecting and administering the tax and the costs of issuing any bonds including interest is collected, provided that such tax shall terminate sooner if the City Council determines that all such costs have been paid, and (b) issue its general obligation bonds in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $16,500,000, plus the cost of issuing the bonds?
