ABOUT THESE RESULTS ·
The
unofficial election results reported on this site are the results reported
directly to the Office of the Secretary of State by the county. ·
Because
media or other persons can also obtain vote totals directly from precinct
election judges before precinct election results are reported to the auditor,
the totals reported for a candidate by television, radio, or newspaper media
may differ from the results reported on this site during the course of Election
Night. ·
Within
two days of the primary, the governing body of each city or school district is
required by state law to meet to canvass and certify the primary election
returns. (Other procedures and deadlines
may apply in a city governed by a city charter.) ·
The
two candidates receiving the most votes for each office, or a number of
candidates equal to twice the number to be elected to the office, advance to
the general election. ·
If
a recount occurs, the clerk of the city or school district will conduct the
recount. The governing body of the city
or school district will reconvene to receive the recounted results and to
resolve any remaining disputes about counting ballots for a candidate. The final vote total from the recount may be
different than the results originally certified. If so, the recounted total, as
approved by the governing body, becomes the official election result. (Other procedures and deadlines may apply in
a city governed by a city charter.) |
